Corey Evan, also known as Corey Leak, was born and raised in the Chicago land area. With the unique mix of being the adopted son of an African Methodist Episcopal Church pastor, attending an Assembly of God high school, and leading worship at a non-denominational charismatic church, Corey brings leadership that fits a broad range of denominations and cultures.
Currently, Corey serves as the Worship Director in Atlanta, GA for The Tabernacle Assembly of God, Oxygen Youth and Young Adult Ministries, and Masters Commission Atlanta under Pastors Sam & Jeanne Mayo. As Worship Director, Corey has created a culture of passionate worship and helped bridge the gap between generations, cultures, and backgrounds through his well rounded approach to worship. He has been featured as a worship artist at National Youth Conferences, State Denominational Conventions, Camps, and Gatherings, as well as hosting powerful worship gatherings semi-annually called Awaken.
From conferences, worship services, rallies, camps, and conventions Corey’s passion and enthusiasm for God and worship have become contagious to a generation of people passionate for God. Corey has written many multi-cultural worship songs that have been performed by worship teams all over the country. He recently recorded his first album, “Not Afraid” which features such powerful songs as “More” and “Just Wanna Worship You”. Corey’s music has touched the lives of thousands of people across the nation from all walks of life. His passion is to promote a sound that gives people a way to express their testimony in song. Corey, and his wife Julie have three beautiful girls and live life together to impact a generation with the love of Christ.
